In the old cultural landscape of the Hoekse Waard you experience an almost old-fashioned rest. The route starts in Maasdam. By the boiling water you see De Hoop, a corn mill from 1822. There's the St. Antony Mill, a 1749 polder mill. The slightly higher Saint Anthoniepolder is the only polder in the Hoeksche Waard which did not flood during the notorious Saint Elizabeth's flood of 1421. This is why there is a Romanesque church from 1357 at the dike. In Westmaas you can hardly miss the Windlust: This white stair mill dates back to 1853 and is used for milling grain.
