The soldier on the right side of the picture is Arie van Steensel, one of Greup's five. Greup is a community in the Hoeksche Waard. Five men from Greup were shot on 19 September 1941 by the German occupying forces.The five men were executed because they had provided help to the crew of a British plane that crashed at Westmaas on 7 August 1941.
