Coupure Haven Goudswaard(Denomination Haven Goudswaard)

On this spot there is a hole in the dike, so you can go to the Goudswaard harbour without having to climb the dike. This passageway has walls on both sides with slots in it.In these slots, shot beams or tidal boards are inserted at high tide. The harbour of Goudwaard is located on the Spui, a river directly connected to the sea. That's why the Spui ebb and flood know.With west winds the water is pushed further high into the rivers, and then the denomination has to close to protect the village from flooding.
